I didn't want a formula red S2000, therefore now I'm in the search for used S2000 Pre-04.

That's not a body kit. That's the SSM concept car which grew into the S2000. It had a five cylinder engine, a weird cabin, a great roll bar, and lights that were too low to please Uncle Sam's girlfriend DOT.

I find it very interesting that a loss of 1k rpm's makes a car tame. Of course you'll mention the suspension changes. Well let's look what they did in general. Honda STIFFENED the FRONT spring rates and SOFTENED the REAR. Honda kept the front bar unchanged and reduced the dia. of the rear bar (by doing this it is the same as adding a stiffer front bar which all pre-04's have done to improve the understeer). So what does this do, esp. with a car that has more tq. and truthfully HP? It keeps the rear tires planted better thus less oversteer which rear wheel drive car have a tendancy to do.

Who says you have to have a rough riding car to have great handleing.

It is fact that 04 is more tamed than pre 04 models.
