How many bars do you have for normal summer time driving.

Three bars alll the time on MY2002. I recall some long-ago post that pointed out that 4 bars represents a radical increase in temperature over that standard 3 bars. It really is not a true temperature gauge in the ordinary sense of the word. But, after all, this is a digital dashboard. What would be handy is an indicator light showing when it is (or is not) safe to attempt VTEC rpms. My understanding is that you need to wait a couple of minutes beyond 3 bars before VTECing, I personallhy have never attempted VTEC except after 3 bars + a few minutes.

you CAN vtec on two bars on 03's, but it's a pretty stupid thing to do.

I have a grill and I've never seen in to go over 3 bars.

AP1s should NEVER go over 3 bars any season. Bar 4 represents a minimum temperature of 235

Yeah, 3 bars is normal all year once fully warmed up. I wish it had a gauge that told the exact temperature, as the difference between 3 and 4 bars is probably pretty large.
