Ming- I can definitely relate! It's been two weeks since I sold my white s2k. I cried the whole way to the dealership. I gotta admit my pride was a bit hurt. The S was my 21st b-day gift to myself. Yet there are more important things in life like my family and currently in the future purchase of my home. I look at like this. If I got it once I can always get it again. All I have left from the S is my muz mat. So now my daily car is a 02' Ford Focus. I still have to have manual. Although I admit at times when I'm shifting I forget that I no longer have a 6th gear!! The handling sucks!! On the weekends I have 02' Yukon Denali with 22'. I'm just a spoiled brat!! Besides I was getting pretty fed up with the scratches on the plastic window. If all is well in 2-3 years, I'll opt for another S white/red by then the S maybe more powerful or my acheivable dream car M3!!

Idly surfing the web, I found this. Kind of a tribute to Mingster in a way!

Wow! I also remember that gathering back in May 2000! Nice find Steve. That was just before I moved to the Bay Area. Richard, you were the very first S2K owner I met after I got my car in December '99. I, and many others, will miss your regular contributions to the board. Please stay around and good luck in your new venture.

By the way, I really enjoyed our drive this morning - and thanks for your help with the oil. You (and Grace) are always welcome "up north." Take care.

Yes, tears are okay. I was almost in the same situation as you, as I came very close to selling my car due to financial reasons. I have found a way to make it work in order to keep the car (that came at the last minute). Just remember, things will get better. Keep a positive attitude.

Just because you're getting rid of your car doesn't mean that you're allowed to disappear from this board. I wish you the best of luck, and hope that your situation gets better soon.
