standardshift.com's message forum has a BUNCH of good tips.

teaching someone how to drive on your s2k? ouch. i'd definitely vote for driving school. it's not the easiest car to learn on.

Better not try to teach her how to ride a unicycle then. It took me a month when I was in college to master that.

The most important thing to learn is the engagement point. The person needs to learn that it is the only thing you really need to know and you need to feel for it. I wouldn't subject the S to teaching someone how to drive a stick, but if it's your only option...

I successfully taught my gf how to drive stick on my S. She gets to drive it solo and everything now. All over a process of about 8 drives accompanied.

So it is possible.

But she wanted to learn, i think that was most important.

i think it serves well to make sure the learner understands , atleast at an elementary level , of how the mechanics behind it works.

ie clutch connected to flywheel.. how wheel speed relates to engine speed

its amazing how many people are already driving but cant grasp those simple concepts :0

it up to 9 and dump the clutch
It wont stall

Serious: driving school.
Or find someone with a stick diesel.
Diesels won't stall letting the clutch go without throttle.
Lots of driving schools in Holland have diesels.
