In Texas I think its $55 for registration, and another $40 for Inspection. So about $100 a year.

In ct we pay personal property taxes on vehicles. It's usually around 3 percent of the cars value. I paid over $2,000 for our new pilot 05 evo and 04 s2k. I traded in my evo for a ctsv this past year so I am really gonna get raped this year. Prob pay $2500 for just car tax next year. Politicians (democrats) are freaking thieves.

DMV doesn't tax you. The town that the car is registered in does. Where I live, west Hartford, the mill rate is very high. You can go to your local town hall and find out what method they use and the mill rate and they will tell you what you owe.

$40 for the inspection? I only pay $15 each year. Why is it more in Houston?
