At the track (out of the box in stock form) the '04 is faster. On the street, it is definately a better daily driver.
Then why are the 1/4 and 0-60 pretty much all thesame regardless of the year.......

Probably due to the wider tires which give better grip in & coming off the corner. Also better torque coming off the corner which pays dividends by the end of the straight.

04 car has to shift 1 extra time (or coast with momentum) to get to 60.
04 car's strengths at the track are in grip and a more usable power band.

As many ppl said, the 04 is a more user-friendly car...
However, if you get urself a used 02 or 03, u'll save some money and u'll just be as happy!!!!

Thanks for the info - since there are no major differences (it seems) I'll likely get a my02-03 and save some money from depreciation and a lower price tag.

Are there differences....yes....does the MY04 make more power throughout the RPM range yes....are the differences worth the extra cost to you? Well that's up to you to decide. The only way you'll really be able to decide is to drive both cars, ideally back to back and see which one you prefer.....

BTW here's a board memember's dyno comparing his old MY00 and his new MY04. Even accounting for dyno error there is still a noticable difference in the power of the two....
