taming the beast

it will be hard to do with the limited space and without taxing on the performance/weight ratio.
it could be done, just like everything else. if that's what you want then i think you should ask around those interior places to see what they can do for you.
don't listen to us since we are just a bunch or narrow minded hardcore e-racer that perfer 15k spring rate and 0.000025 seconds in quarter miles than anything else.
<---70miles everyday, socal/LA gridlock stop and go everyday and i freakin love it
only with aftermarket clutch too
s pod will not do much, you need to rip the whole crappy stereo out and redo eveyrthing to have a decent sounds in our car. look into the EJ forum for some great idea and facts.
hardtop will be a good investmenet too, the oem is the only one that i know they have with insulation. used one is around 2200 bucks, unless you crash or dent it, you can pretty much sell it back for the same price when you done with your car.
so pretty much is free if you have some money to flow around.
or you can take that money and buy a beater

Hey all,
So I'm now facing 2 hrs daily in moderate to heavy traffic in a few weeks, as opposed to my current quick 15 min commute at 70 mph. I'm thinking of getting a GT car so I don't kill myself in the S (yes, I'm old and fat). I found a BIG difference in doing 2 hrs in my S vs. 2 hrs in my wife's BMW E46. I'm also thinking of making the S more comfortable. So far:
1. Dynamat
2. Hardtop (if so, what type would be best to minimize road noise?)
3. S-pods for better stereo.
Any other ideas?
Thanks....

But...comfy? I kind of doubt it. If you're comparing to an E46 BMW - one of the better highway cars I've ever driven - you're going to be disappointed. Only thing I can think of is, if you've modified the car, take it back to stock. Of course, if it's stop and go traffic for two hours, I think you're gonna hate anything. The car isn't the core problem there...

hardtop money ==> old chrysler beater/boat for DD commutes. cushy and sloppy as anything. it will make you love your S and beg for the abuse!
actually, a used Acura 2.2CL/similar is probably cheap as dirt because they're ugly, but as for comfort i'd expect its pretty good. any comfy beater is a good idea. i like the "accord conversion" idea too!
