Taking off softtop and installing hardtop
I read that the softtop mechanical parts weighs around 60lbs. And the hardtop barely weighs 10lb. So I am planning to go with the 50lb reduction.
I already have the hardtop but I don't plan to install it with the softtop.
Will this affect the weight distribution of the car?

How come? your taking off this weight from the back of the car. It's barely 1% of the weight... but that's a lot

You do notice the difference if you drive a 350Z and try cornering, right!?!?!?
Well the Z is deviated only by 3%
53-47
That is enough to make you feel that it behaves like a pendulum
And the softtop is not 1%, actually it's a little less than 2%.
If this is the case. Then how come the CR weight reduction was mainly due to the softtop elimination!!!!
That means the CR weight distribution is not as good as our S.... Unless there is something else I don't know about, which is most likely

you eating a big lunch can change the weight distribution of the car. Have boots on? yeah, that can do it too. Stop being so nit picky. Oh, and the hard top does not weight 10 pounds fyi.
You could also just get coilovers and corner balance the car, but honestly, that's probably overkill for you. Will it make you feel "cool" and that your car is "set up and ready to race", probably, but I'm betting you benefit from nothing but a larger ego because of it.

Not worth it. Especially for the hit on resale, but if anything, leave the top and simply remove the top motors.
I am towards "no side effects" specially that CR comes with no softtop.
By the way, how much do the motors weigh alone?

I did a quick search, and this is a quote from another thread talking about weight loss by removing the soft top.
Even though you might not take the hardtop off, it will still be good to keep the soft top just in case.
The entire soft top assembly weighs just over 40lbs. The motors weigh about 6-7 lbs each
