Default Swapping Gears in MY04

Hello,
I was wondering if there is any gear swap that would help a MY 04, whether it be 4.77 or any other. I am mostly concerned with gaining midrange and top-end. Not sure if any of these gear swaps will affect an 04, I have done some searching and come up with a lot of info. but very little concerning 04s. thanks everyone!

4.77's will deffinately give you some more low end torque, but as you say the effect is not that great compared to 4.77s on a MY02 for example. You will lose top end though. I've hear of 5.xx's. You might want to do a search on those. I'm not sure about their reliability/cost/effectiveness though.

I had my 2002 and could definitely see where the gears would help in a big way, on my 2004 I would be hesitant to do the swap, it seems like you fly through the gears already.

Changing the rear end on an '04 will have just as much an effect as on an '03. They both have the same rear end, after all - 4.100.

'04s simply already have an overall lower gearing because of the different secondary reduction gear in the tranny. So just like a stock '04 is like an '03 with 4.27 gears, and '04 with 4.77s would be like an '03 with 4.96 gears.

Anyway, your thrust in each individual gear will be increased, but each gear's range will be reduced, so at certain speeds you maximum acceleration will be reduced. It's a tradeoff.

i am not concerned with losing top end speed, or even top speed period. i would like to gain faster acceleration in the higher RPMs

It might be the same as stock in higher rpm's, but you will deffinately have to shift faster, I dont know if you get what I mean, 4.77s are good for lower rpms because they get you into vtec quicker...
