Default Summit Racing Experience

After my big brake install, I needed to order some brake bleeders as the one on the bleeders had broke off. I was also thinking about buying some longer wheel studs so I placed both of these into my cart and decided to go check out to see the full prices with shipping and handling.

This is when I put in my paypal account to see the full amount which is when I decided I didn't need the arp wheel studs. I deleted both items and placed just 1 set of brake bleeders.

Later on that day, I caught the mistake early by checking my paypal account so I called Summit Racing and talked to one of their representatives. I told him that I did not purchase the first order and that this was probably the website's fault for not confirming with me. He said okay and was going to send me a return label. I then asked him if I was going to get a full refund with shipping and handling, and he said okay. A week later and they give me a refund minus shipping and handling. I called and went through 2 rude representatives that told me the same thing.

They repeatedly blamed me for the order saying that the only way the order processed was because I pressed confirm but I never pressed a "confirm" button as I only wanted to see the full amount of the order before I order it. They pretty much started to yell at me saying I won't get my shipping and handling money back even when I talked to the first representative stating that I would. This was basically an order that I never purchased and got charged for it.

They even said online orders usually don't get return labels and that I was lucky for that? Uhhh I'm sure if other customers calling back the same day saying they didn't order it would get return labels as well. So thanks summit racing for being a shitty arse company

I'm not too worried about the shipping money but if one of your representatives lied and told me I would get a full refund and shipping and handling back, then I'd expect that. Then to go talk to 2 of your employees that pretty much disrespected me the entire phone call placing all the blame on me... Not acceptable.

Anyone else have a problem somewhat similar to this? Or am I supposed to accept this?

If the transaction went into their system, you confirmed it, whether you intended to or not.

yea that's what I thought. I was almost 95% positive i never confirmed anything. Just wanted to see the total amount.

Kind of like when you order clothes online and you want to keep going to see the shipping and handling charges. It should lead you to a page that specifically confirms your order.

Yea I applaud them for the fast response and shipping time but I even called the exact same day to cancel the order (that i thought i didn't place) and they said they would refund me the full amount. Pretty much lied to me.

I can't imagine shipping being that expensive it confuses me why a company would not chalk this up as a mistake and just eat the cost. It's not worth pissing someone off for something like that since especially since he called the same day to straigten it all out and was told he would in fact get a full refund.

Hard to tell. Normally you click checkout and it's confirmed. Isn't there like calculating shipping button? Anyway, if you called immediately to cancel, they should've refunded you.

It was my first time ordering from them and it asked that I signed up before I could see the total amount. I signed in through paypal and before I knew it I was already charged the amount and the same day it was already shipped out.

I knew I should have asked for the name of the employee I was talking to but he seemed more then willing to give me my full refund back so I didn't even bother to ask.
