Default Suggest a Resonator/Muffler?

I think I am going to go against the grain and build a custom exhaust.

Can anyone suggest a good resonator or muffler (whicha nice lookin tip on it)? I've seen the ones on ebay and maybe they are ok (any comments), but I figured I ask here. Sound is important as is minimal drone @ highway cruise. It can be loud as hell at any other time aside from highway cruise. Thanks.

Hey if you want racing resinators they are from gator products and have stainless steel glass packing they not too bad when driving around but are so loud when you actually get into the accelerator. These are the kinds that i have on my S but there are a few more choiced. Will try to get a sound clip but it may be a while cuse the car is still in the shop.

Funny you asked this, I was thinking the same thing last night.
I'm tempted to go with a straight pipe from the headers to two mufflers of my choice. I'm leaning more towards Magnaflow because i really like the tone they all seem to produce.

I probably will end up with a Magnaflow resonator inline as well, because I don't wanna sound like a complete jackass. Partial jackass is fine.

I guess it seems like most aftermarkets just have resonators. I wasnt sure if there was room for two regular mufflers under there or not. If I can fit regular mufflers than I'd probably get magnaflows as well.

I will also check out those racing resonators, but I would like to hear clips. I dont want it to sound like a can of angry bees.

I second the Magnaflows. They produce a nice deep sound on our 4 cyclinder cars.

I don't have any particular in mind, I've had them on 3 cars, 2 of which were 4 cylinders, 1 a Honda. Sounded great on all of em without being obnoxious. Never had the inline mufflers, always been the rear-mounted mufflers with attached tips.

Best sounding car was my Nissan 240sx with a cat back, twin outlet muffler. It was awesome.

Depending on what fits, I'll be probably going with pair of a 2.5 inch inlet and 3-4 inch tips. I figure the cost will come in somewhere around $900-1000 all done.

$80 Magnaflow Resonator
$180 Magnaflow Mufflers (x2)
$400 Piping and Labor

We'll see what kind of deals I can scrounge up.

Anybody had any experience with mufflers from Vibrant Performance? I have some friends who work there and I may be able to get a great deal, but only if the product is good.
