I decided to "hit" a raccoon last yr in my Golf GTI while going from Toronto to Chicago -- I couldn't safely swerve in time.
I ended up doing $3000 worth of damage as the bugger got in through the grill and did ALL sorts of damage in the engine bay.
So, doesn't matter what you do, stuff happens!

Guess you didn't see the mythbuster episode. Flooring it won't make it catapult over the car. It will cause more damage though!
