[B]no, you misunderstand me....

The enclosure for the sub takes the place of the tool box.

cmnsnse,

Oh I stand corrected..I think

SO the tire it too tall to just stand up right now??? You have to take off the cover for the tool box and remove the tools to hold the spare. I did not try puting the spare in tire in the trunk since in the manual it looks like it can hold standing up. I am now confused

Because with my installation there is NO space taken up at all in the trunk.

If you're going for a no-space install, give the Boston Acoustics Competitor 8" subwoofer a try. I have the 10" in my Subaru, and it takes up very, VERY little space. I've a custom box enclosure for it and my amplifier, and the whole thing takes up a ridiculously small amount of room.

A sealed enclosure is necessary, but that will only make the sub sound better anyway, IMO. The BA is a wonderful-sounding sub, much much better than most of the stuff you'd find anywhere else. And it's not like their Pro Series, whereas the sub needs a LOT of mounting room, and gobs of power.

Not really, that of course is impossible. In fact I find the trunk well extremely useful and would not want to fill it with components.

Yes, you will have to remove your sub to get your flat tire home.. or carry a plastic bag so that you can put it in your GF's lap.

T.O.-S2k

The foam that holds the tools has to come out also.

One more thing, I have seen some amps mounted to the underside top of the trunk, I guess they havnt had a flat yet, ALL the space is needed, even the little bit between the reinforcing beams.
