If you are a skilled driver, then AP1 is better.
If you like cruising/freeway miles AP2 is better.
The AP2 was created exclusively for the North American market because of the 'Lack of Torque'. Obviously the fact that a gearbox is a 'Torque Amplifier' escaped most persons knowledge span!
Everywhere else kept the AP1 until 2006/7 when tha Japs finally got the 2.2 litre engine.
In the UK, we still have only the AP1, although the other interior/exterior/suspension revisions were carried over.
