being . . . constantly hassled by interested people gets old quicker then you might think.
A friend of mine once said, while looking at a Corvette, "Douche car." I said, "What?" He said, "Everyone I ever knew who had a Corvette was a real douche bag." Same with Porsche.
It gets old quicker than you might think.

whenever i talk to porche owner about their porsche, they're asshats.
but when talking about something else, they're pretty damn nice.
they're sick of talking about the car to other people, so stop poking at it!

my uncle in Toronto has a 1988 Porsche 928 S4 sent from the Porsche factory to be tuned by Koenig of Germany. It's one of 6 in the world and has been appraised by the Porsche Club of America at $130,000 USD. it's one amazing car if you see it in person. it has a factory body kit that is a foot wider than a normal 928 S4 **on each side** he loves his car to death but he never talks about it much because he's tired of it.

Holy wow.... you my friend, are hardcore!
I imagine if the wife doesn't like the Elise, just drive her around in the Atom for a week... . Anyway, must be nice to be able to choose from a stable of extremely fun vehicles .

nice choices! Those are true driver's cars.
There are so many people in my neck of the woods that have porsches as status symbols that I shy away from purchasing one. I believe that the Caymen with the right mods could be one of the greatest cars around. The stigma and the cost of maintenance keep me away.
I may go for a Noble one day, but for now the only car I dream about rests quietly in my garage until i press that glorious start button. Then she rests no more.
