Default stolen seats and slashed top

My top was slashed and they stole my seats and cluster.

I asked for a check for total amount thinking I would get aftermarket seats and add cash to get a HT but the insurance said NO they need to see that the seats and top are purchased and installed?

is this right or is my insurance just doubtful that I faked this?

if that's what they said, then do it...

and maybe u can talk to them , tell them u can go for the aftermarket way, for cheaper than OEM honda shits...

try it , if they still saying no, then go for the OEM...

GOOD LUCK..

makes no sense.... they should give you an ammount of what it costs to buy new seats, have a top purchased and installed, and say for the cluster.

Happened to my buddies evo no to long ago, got 13k for seats, headlights and some other shit, ended up having fun and going all aftermarket/performance upgrades.

Yeah, it'll be whatever terms you agreed to when you signed for your insurance policy.

i would think them seeing it all gone and damaged along with police report, you get 3 quotes from different places about the cost, they go with the average, cut you a check and you spend the money however you see fit, ive dealt with agents like that before, run through your contract and make sure

My friend had his seats and top slashed and his insurance said they would replace the top and find him OEM seats. The seats looked like crap and he refused to keep em. He showed them a price from Honda which was 9k for the OEM seats. So he said just give me 7200 and Ill find me some seats myself. They agreed and cutted him the check.

Ive known alot of people who also got cut checks. Only one girl I know just had them replace everything and didnt get any money.

If a bank still has a lein on the car, then most likely the bank will have to cosign that check. I'm sure people abused the system before and when the insured couldn't make payments on the car, the repo'ed car wasn't whole. If you own the car outright, then you should be able to do as you please with the check.

From my experience, insurance doesn't like to just cut you a check..they consider this a "cash payout" and you have to take something like a 20% cut on the total amount if you want a check instead of having the repairs done at a shop..at least that's how my insurance company operates
