If you buy the antenna from handa, it is stock OEM. They are actually the on-line part of a Honda dealer.
Where in Arcadia did you get your antenna stolen??? Didn't think the area around there was that bad.

I actually had my stolen two weeks ago at my apartments. I did not notice it until i got to work. I ordered from Handa accessories and they are pretty quick with shipping.

When i got my 2002 s2000 the dealer told me to watch out! They have people coming in all the time to buy replacement antennas because of theft. On saleman had two stolen from his car in a two month period......especially dangerous at malls....schools and bad areas.

I'm impressed by your ingenuity. However, I wouldn't want to trade that precious storage space for the "protection" of a $15 antenna. (Unless my antenna is constantly stolen)

xviper- Great Idea. One thing to note, the antenna performance relies on the antenna having a metal base plate connected to the vehicle ground. Without it, you will probably be able to pick up stations but not as many as before. When you mount the antenna, make sure you use a metal backing plate tied to vehicle ground. You may be able to mount the plate on the inside of the plastic cover. Use at least a 12awg wire and tie it to the closest chassis bolt you can find.
