Default Stoked on my gas mileage!

So I went for a long drive yesterday. Filled up just a few miles from my house, went down to pick up a friend, took a nice drive up the mountain near Yosemite, and on the way home I was watching my odometer and gas and wanted to see 300 so bad... as I rolled up to the Chevron station my gas light came on, and the odometer read 300.7 miles. I put in 10.67 gallons so did the math and got 28.18 mpg. I wasn't REALLY babying it, but I did not see VTEC either... I don't think I went above 74 mph. My car is a Stock AP2 plus a CT Engineering filter, original tires in great shape at spec psi, stock ride height, top down the WHOLE way (should have put it up because she complained about the wind messing up her hair about every 10 minutes).

I am pretty Impressed! I didn't really buy this car with an economical mindset, but it is nice to know that you can get decent mileage out of it when you need to. I usually see 22-23mpg all city while daily driving it.

Congrats.

In other news, I managed to burn a whole tank of 10 gal in 190 miles last weekend! Obviously I wasn't trying to conserve anything, but you can hit 300+ miles on a tank if you try.

300+ miles was pretty easy for me when on the highway. I even got it with 4.77 gears, top down and cruising at 80 mph on the highway once.
Car stock can get some sweet gas mileage!

Sorry to rain on your parade but my stock AP1 got a record of 354 miles on one tank and 34.1 mpg!!! This was at 95 degrees all interstate at 70-75 mph...the crazy thing is half the time we had the top down and the trunk had about 150 lbs of luggage in it.

Hell NO don't put that top up, if it ain't raining it should be down.
Tell her(OK, ask her) to put it in a ponytail, get a hair cut or put on a hat.

You can see what Cindy and I get on our '06 for mileage in my fuelly page.

Haha for sure Rod, I remember us talking about that at the last meet. She was just being a girl lol, I pulled over and made her get out a hairband and bobby pins and let her do her thing for a few minutes then we were back on the road! Cool I will check that out!

That's nothing - I once got 400 miles on a tank while hauling two alpacas.
