This is the very reason that I am running 18's on the street for the "looks" but when I get serious about track time (not autocross but more circuit track) I am going to get a nice set of wide 16's with a lot of meat to put on the ground. Seems like you can have your cake and eat it too...I'll just have to trailer the car to the track because I don't plan on using street legal tires at the track.

I just got 17" Volk CE28N's (~13 lbs. each), and have Kuhmo MX tires on the way. I better get improved handling out of this expenditure, or I'm not going to be happy!
