Stock single exhaust conversion

Stock single exhaust conversion
Has anyone tried to convert the stock exhaust by cutting off the driver side exhaust? I'm wondering how much lighter it would be and if it would be louder than stock.

haha that sound like a good idea. i have never thought about that before. im sure you will save like 15-20lbs doing this and maybe make it louder too, since there is only one muffler. keep us posted if you do it.

that's not a bad idea at all.
i always wonder if the dual exhaust will do us much good? (besides looks)
but i doubted a single stock exhaust conversion will result in hp gain? (if not hp lost , cause after all, we are reducing the path for air to get out)
nonetheless, if the benefit of the weight lost out weight the effect of losing hp (if any), there this should be a cheap-er way to gain performance.
the question is: would anybody be willing to do the conversion and do a dyno?
(anybody who installed an aftermarket exhaust system and don't mind donating his old stock exhaust for scientific experience ? )
