I've heard it with the resonator removed and with a testpipe...I'm not a fan of either. Sounds worse IMO.

No resonator means it will:

-drone on the freeway
-drone around town
-be buzzy
-sound atrocious when cold
-make law enforcement bother you

As long as the ID of the resonator is the same as the ID of the exhaust tubing, the performance loss is virtually zero.

If you want a different sound, get a catback exhaust. Or at the minimum, replace the mufflers.

I believe he asked if it would have any negative effect on his car not
your negative opinion on how it sounds.
the answer to your question is no it will not effect anything but noise.

Actually the car sounds good with just a testpipe added. Thats how my car is set up right now and I love the sound. Sorta raspy like a Ferarri (obviously not as sexy though haha). Having both the resonator removed and testpipe on is too much I think. It sounds good but not practical at all.

Heres a clip of testpipe and no resonator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiQWitHJj-U

Heres a clip of just resonator removed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPrvU...eature=related

And heres a clip of just testpipe added: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geN47...eature=related

That proves it...no resonator = raspy and buzzy.

Good clips.
