Stock autoX drivers say the S2000 needs a stiffer front bar to counter the oversteer when on race tires. I'm going to stiffen the stock bar using epoxy resin and fiberglass cloth. Can anyone tell me why this will not work? If it works, someone should market a carbon fiber reinforced front sway bar. It will look good AND be functional.

Seems kind of kludgy to me. How will you control degree of additional stiffness? If there is a demand for it the aftermarket will supply a stiffer bar but I a sceptical of the need.

There's a major need for one for the serious autoXer's. For the street and the "now and then" autoXer's it's not really needed.

I am not sure if they are available yet, but RM Racing is going to offer front and rear sway bars. FYI, they will cost about half of what the Mugen front costs.

Kludgy, yes, but very cheap. As far as autoX goes, the stiffer, the better. If it isn't stiff enough, I can add more fiberglass. Even the Mugen isn't stiff enough for some people.

Hey RM: don't we want a less stiff bar in the rear?

We found that our specifications on the bars make the S2000 handle neutral.

for stock class Solo II autocross only the front bar can be modified - the rear bar cannot be touched or removed.

I'm working with Greg Fordahl (multiple time national champion in Solo II) to develop a very stiff front bar - it's still in the design stages, but it should be great once it's done. www.fordahlmotorsports.com
