Stereo replacement?

Stereo replacement?
I will be replacing the sound system and on this subject I talked to the only trusted auto Stereo shop in town that I have used for many years and they have never done a S2000, but they said it shouldn't be that hard for them to come up with a solution, I'm nervous that they may not know what the proper procedure should be, what I want is to be able to have at least a four speaker arrangement with an amplifier and I guess since steering wheel remote is not possible I think I would like to be able to use the existing dash mounted remote, I'm older than the generation that likes the loud bass, and I will not be putting in gigantic subs, so is there a simple solution for rear speakers that don't look cheap?
To those who autosound is important and having control of it,do you like the dash mounted remote?
I was wondering if it wouldn't be better to buy a unit that comes with its own separate remote control?
What functions does the dash mounted remote actually do besides volume control and mute?
I plan on using sponsors to this forum as much as possible but the fact that in my town there are only a handful of S2000 I don't have the privilege of actually seeing modifications in person or being able to speak to those who have modified or upgraded their rides, I have talked to two owners and either one has any intentions of modifying their cars which is okay but I'm from a different planet and I like to make my ride's a little unique and special to me, so after the most important upgrade to me (the sound system) then I'm going to jump head first into exterior as well as interior modifications, so my source of information are the members here on this forum (thanks for being here).
So any specific suggestions and brands/model numbers of equipment that is the way to go for a clean installation as well as great sound is appreciated.

Take a look in the electronics forum. There is a huge amount of info on all the questions you just asked. It is possible to keep the dash mounted controls via 2 different options. There are also detailed instructions available on different install options and if you go to Lucids website he sells a great mod to add 4 speakers.
