Stage III clutch went bad
I had my Star Stage III kevlar clutch w/ the lighten pressure plate for about a year and a few months. It gave way last week. I noticed something wrong with my rpms at first. I decided to wait until I got back from Cancun to take it to the dealer. Got back and it had the same problem. Then I had a hard time starting the car in first. It got worse quickly. It then took like 5 or 10 seconds to start from first. So I was crossing my fingers not to hit a red light. I finally got to the gym. After working out for like 2 hours, I tried to start the car. It took a while to go. I took this person home (who lived a block away), then decided to drive home. After about a block, I decided that was not a good idea. So I ended up parking it back at the gym. I had to wait until later on in the night (b/c of less cars on the road) to take it to the dealer to drop off. When I got back in the car, it took forever for the car to move. I didn't think it would go, then finally it did. I crossed my fingers and made all the green lights to the dealership. So I told the mechanic to put back the stock clutch. The car runs fine now.
Anyone else have problems with the Star clutch? I don't drive that aggressively, usually driving maybe 5 over the limit most of the time. I do occasionally run other cars, but that's maybe once a month. I can't believe it went out so quickly.

My Star S3 clutch lasted about a year (10K miles) before I wore the Kevlar completely. I was very unhappy, posted to that effect, and replaced the clutch using a regular organic friction disk.
