Default Spoon lower rear brace

I need some info from anyone who has installed the Spoon lower rear brace. Those who have it know that no real instructions come with it. My question is this: do you remove the bar that is already there and replace it with the Spoon piece or do you bolt the Spoon bar over the stock bar and run the new hardware to secure everything in place? The only reason I would leave the stock bar is that there is a black box (?) with a shield bolted to it and there are no holes in the Spoon bar to remount this shielding, thus leaving it banging around.
Any info would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Nick you don't remove any bar that is already existing. You just take out the four bolts, and then insert the X-brace, then use the longer bolts provided with the brace. Not sure what black box you are talking about though. Drive by my place if you want and I'll install it for you. Takes a couple of minutes.

Dan, I think he is talking about a rear lower strut bar, not an X-brace.

nine grand, I read the install instructions on the comptech version for the fun of it. They say that you remove the existing bar and there are simply two screws to detatch the black box. Then you install the comptech bar in its place.

check it at www.comptechusa.com/install.html

Pick the "rear brace" I think, out of the s2000 list.

Doh, not reading clearly again. Go with what Munckee said, you remove the existing bar for the lower rear brace.

If SPOON hasn't made any changes lately, you'll have to drill those holes into your brace that go into the black box. I had to do the same things a couple of years ago.

It is a pretty piece but does not seem to do any more than the stock piece it replaces. Most versions were not drilled to accommodate the US emissions canister so drilling could be required. I have one and am sorry I spent the time and money for it.

Thanks to all for your responses. Munckee thanks for the link. I forgot Comptech made one as well.
Joe, same bar, same holes. I'll have to drill it if and when I come across some free time this weekend. I don't want to jury rig it.
cdelena, I agree it was a somewhat pointless purchase, but I bought the x-brace and STB as well so I figured what the hell. It is nice eye candy. You
