Does anyone have the Spoon Sports Headers installed in their S2K? If so, can you please post your driving impressions, dyno plots, etc? I am trying to decide between the Spoon and Mugen headers.

Well I dyno'd the car this morning
and
the results were disappointing.
The Spoon header/exhaust are first rate as far as quality.
But I only managed 197.5 on the dyno.
And no I didn't do a baseline against stock. So I don't know where I started.
The Spoon exhaust comes with a silencer and I tried one run with that. HP dropped to 167.5 So I won't be using that silencer.
Also the Spoon exhaust came with a bypass pipe for the cat. I didn't try using that.
I have emailed Giampiero the graphs.
As far as comparing the Mugen agains the Spoon header you would need to do a back to back on the same car on the same dyno to see which is better. But I am sure we will hear from the Mugen people

Well im a Mugen peep. Its proven 8-10hp and a as much or more torque! Its mostly in the low end where you want in. Simply that is it its where you want it. Not much high end power but a little more.
Seems like that silencer is just like stuffing a cork in the exhaust pipe!

Funcar; you did the dyno in the same shop where Hondaguy did the dyno of the HKS exhaust?I think that these results are too negatives ,especially the one with the silencer on.

a 30hp drop from putting in that silencer is a little hard to believe.
1st of all I know nothing about dyno's. This was a first for me.
On the racecar the motor was dyno'd and I got a dyno sheet when the motor was delivered. That is my only prior exprience.
I have a few things I want to check out on my install since I was in a big hurry when I did it.
Or maybe try another dyno?
But then again. I really don't care.

Hey funcar, I know it is too late since you already installed the header, but really consider ceramic coating or try those Thermotec header wrapper to insulate the extreme heat the header produces.
Low figure may have been contributed from ECU's power cut when the temperature underhood rises allowed level.
Stock dyno figures seem to be from 190-210 range and they are no perfect figure since it can be very dependent upon conditions where the testing is performed so don't make any haste judgement from the low figure above.
A while back then, my dyno figure came to 211hp at the wheel with HKS Racing header and Amuse exaust and that was without the header wrap that I did. I was disppointed with the figure as well back then. With so much added on from then, I am curious now how much have improved.
Hmmm, yeah that silencer figure is very strange.
