Depends on what you mean by damaging the finish. After about 2 years of use, my bluish/ torched hue had faded to all silver like the rest of the knob. I buffed it with what is equivalent to a jewelry buffer at work and it removed all the scratches. Any buffing you do will clear out all of the blue, though. I liked how it looked all silver and polished but I ended up re-torching it blue.

i like my t1r knob. 2nd would go to skunk2, 3rd oem, 4th vodoo. those are only knobs ive tried.

i tried the skunk2...i wasnt too impressed. the weight of it makes the shifting a bit sluggish. that knob is so damn heavy.
