Default Spoilers

What do you people recommend in respect to a spoiler. Here is a link to the HONDA one.

Are there any accessories out there that would match that HONDA spoiler say for a rear spoiler and something for the side of the body?

Do you recommend any other body kits?

What are the advantages (other than looks) in getting these added to your car?

Thanks.

That last question is a good one so I'll post.

What advantages: Mugen provides 200 lbs rear wheel down force, per greg stevens, who visited Mugen in Japan. King Motorsports sells them for $600

If you just want looks, buy my worthless, silver, dealer pre-mounted Honda spoiler, and I'll buy the 200 lbs down force type

Yep, 200 pounds...can't wait to have mine installed in a few days!

But good question, the stock pieces don't do squat for aerodynamics. They are strictly for looks and I think they look OK, as I have all the pieces on my car. I wouldn't have gotten the side strakes due to the giant HOLES that are required to be drilled in the bottom of the side panel...

But for the sides, I'm getting the Comptech skirts...I think they are classy, somewhat subtle and not anywhere near obnoxious as some of the other stuff I have seen. I would just leave it stock on the sides, but now that I ripped off a strake on the way to Asheville and I need something to cover the hole that is there now.

I think there is a pictorial here on s2ki that has shots of all the various body kits that are available. Poke around in the Photo Gallery...

Good luck!

Hey all,

just a word of caution....be very careful of "piecing" together body parts. Yes, sometimes individual parts look good on the car, but after you have enough individual parts....you don't want to be the person that takes a step back to realize the monstrosity that you created.

IMO, the Mugen spoiler (and the wing for that matter) is [ltred]HOT[/ltred].....

Greg, if you want to get rid of those holes on the side of the car, just take it to a bodyshop to get it patched. That is a very EASY patch job, and matching stock paint is no ordeal at all. It'll also come out cheaper than aftermarket sideskirts that my crack on the next hit (just like the stock piece did). Next time though, the sideskirt could possibly cause more damage due to it being driven into the side/door panels or by ripping off the side (taking paint with it).

OEM body kit actually has functionality. I asked that question before.

Yeah ditto, what speed?
BTW, are they still selling the original "scooper" front bumper on the red car on King motorsports?

I think the majority of downforce is that created on your wallet.
