Speedin'
was on 287 N yesterday, 3 lanes little traffic. Had a new mazda 6 and a mitsu something (older) screwing around behind me, i followed since they would get tickets quicker than me. they kept slowing up to get along side of me, after a few times i stuck it in 4th gave a wave and i was gone, this was the second "foray" into tripple digits for me and i found the car very poised even approaching 120... you?
BTW speeding is dangerouse, you shouldn't speed.

it gets scary closer to 130+...maybe i'm just a sissy.
i passed a cop on my way from LA to Vegas doing just a tad over 100. I stomped my brakes, he pulled out and flashed his lights....then went around me and pulled over the guy in front of me who was probably doing 80+ when we passed the cop as I was pulling up to him really quick at my speed.
speeding is bad.

Speeding may be bad, but going above the dumbass speed limit is not.
Speed limits on highways have nothing to do with safety, and everything to do with revenue generation. Don't believe it? How hard would it be to equip every new car with a speed limiter (ala BMW, Mercedes, etc) preventing it from doing more than 70mph?

History Lesson:
1. Speed laws had nothing to do with safety when first implemented by the government. The original intent was to conserve fuel. During the fuel crisis, the speed laws were enacted to help the big V-8 monsters of the day keep the consumption to a minimum.
2. Speed laws have not been shown to effect accident rates. In Montana, where the speed laws were eliminated in some roads, the actual accident rate went up to start, but then went down, even below the previous rate.
3. Tickets are now issued not because of safety concerns or fuel, but for revenue that goes straight to the local police department.

hypothetically, i made it to 151mph with the top up on I-10 on my way back from albuqueque. i was forced to slow down by an irrate wife who woke up at about 130. that was while she was still stock. with 4.77 gears in, i'll top out sooner, but i'll get there a lot quicker. but, of course, all that's hypothetical. speeding kills, people, and sleeping on the couch cuz the wife's mad at you sucks.
