I've never even removed the cover from the spare. I've owned the car for a year and a half and never bothered to look at it. I'm hoping that 20 years from now that will still be the case.

I picked up a nice small, light 12V compressor at Sears for around US$20. I figure I'm saving at least 24 pounds weight, net, plus getting a bunch of extra trunk space.

any chance of doing a 'spare tyre space mat' some time soon? 25% of the people responding to this poll are going without the spare, so you should be able to sell a reasonable number...
