Plugs may be bad, but rather than buying a new tire, get the tire shop to fix the tire with a plug/patch.

I've used many in the past on numerous S02's/S03's without any further incidences (in relation to those specific fixes).

IMO a plug is unreliable and can leak or blow out without warning, maybe a day maybe six months later, who knows. Get a patch on the inside as long as it's not too close to the sidewall and have it rebalanced.

I think what he means is that you want to patch, not plug. Patch != Plug.

Patching involves taking the tire off, sanding down the inside rubber a bit, and adhereing a piece or rubber to seal the leak.

Plugging involves taking a twist of fibers, dunking them in a gooey adhesive, and then shoving it in the open hole, usually after widening it out a bit with a rod.

Plugs are unreliable and cheaper.

Patches are almost as good as new, and they only cost about $15 at your local Firestone.

Yeah, that's what I was going to say it was too.

What's a good place to get a new rear S02? My rear passenger is pretty low on tread, but for some reason, my rear driver side looks brand new. I don't know why.
