some jerk hit my S and took off
I suppose it was only a matter of time. They scraped half of my rear bumper
down to the plastic and there are some gouges in it too.
Question for those who've had body work. I'm guessing they will need to take the
bumper off to check for damage behind it. Is is customary to just replace the part
since it's plastic or do they usually try to fill it in and repaint? If they do try to fix it do I need to worry about blending the color (silverstone)? Any issues with repainting the part since its so flexible?
Thanks.

Sorry to hear that. Someone hit mine 3 days after I got it. They took off too. Total bummer. Fortunately the Honda dealership was nice enough to take care of it for me. Good luck.

The body shop for speed of repair will most likely, get a new or "exchange" bumper. An exchange bumper is a bumper that has been repaired prevously. And they send the company your old damaged bumper. As for color match, they will most likey paint a good part of the rear of the car. To try and blend it in as best as they can. I had a Miata with a custom pearl white, and it got rear ended. When I got it back I could never tell it was hit. Even the pearl was a perfect match

is the mugen pre painted? I mean since the rear bumper is a large area wouldnt you have to have the rear of the car repainted again to blend in properly instead of just the bumper?

Kingmotorsports has a red project s2000 with the bumper - the paint looks great - so it must not be too tough a job.
Great looking bumper. I've been trying to convince myself that taking a brand new, perfectly fine bumper off and replacing it is a good idea!
