Curious as to why you decided to lease a brand new car instead of just buying a beater to tide you over (?).
needed something with a warranty and that wont be breaking down on me.

I'm not trying to be nosy, but I find it hard to understand how a 3-year lease on a new car can be better than continuing payments (assumed financing) on a 5-year-old car with good resale value at the end. Not only is there little or no asset value at the end of the lease, there are non-trivial transaction costs involved with the change. All of these costs need to be factored into the "investment" decision. And that says nothing about the angst that you referred to about letting go of the S.

I hope you made the right financial decision and hope that you'll get back into an S sooner than you expect.

(my sympathy is even greater because mine is a MY07 Rio.)
it needed new tires pretty soon and at 83k miles who knows how much longer the clutch had left in it. As far as the lease goes, im paying $160/month with no money down instead of $400. I also managed to get free oil changes for the life of the lease.

Dude, I sold mine in 08 due to financial and baby reasons but recently got another after spending 2 years not finding an adequate or reasonably priced replacement. I seriously think the next step up for anything close to s2000 is porsche or an M3 both a bitch to maintain...

you'll be back :0P
I agree with the porsche and m3, however those cars will go on and on. THe beauty about the S is there is no other. there maybe be an s3000 or what not but it will never be as raw as the original. It will have all the gizmos and electronics that take the driving experience away. ie. = GT-R

No one can tell you have to live your life - do what you think is right.

Sucks man. An old ass crx or hatch should be reliable though if you get a clean one. under 5k can get you that. I understand new is less problems though.

You can always grab an ap1 for cheap
