Sold my beloved S
well a sad day in my history recently occured. I had to let go of my 05 rio due to financial circumstanes. Now Im stuck in a 2011 Civic lx auto for the next 3 years of my life (Lease). I will be saving a good amount of money though. When 3 years end, I plan on jumping back into my 3rd S! There is just no other car that delivers the sheer driving pleasure that I get from an s2000. no other car that will satisfy me for the price. So till then I will still be active on the forum.

I'm not trying to be nosy, but I find it hard to understand how a 3-year lease on a new car can be better than continuing payments (assumed financing) on a 5-year-old car with good resale value at the end. Not only is there little or no asset value at the end of the lease, there are non-trivial transaction costs involved with the change. All of these costs need to be factored into the "investment" decision. And that says nothing about the angst that you referred to about letting go of the S.
I hope you made the right financial decision and hope that you'll get back into an S sooner than you expect.
(my sympathy is even greater because mine is a MY07 Rio.)

i traded in my 08 CR for a '10 fit (had my first child 2 weeks ago) and then bought a 92 miata as well as my fun car. operational costs of both the miata and the fit combined is still $200 cheaper per month for me then the CR alone.
