Default softer ride but better handling?

Is there any springs that will make the 08 09 s2000 more smooth but offer better or similar handling?

i was in my friends 2007 5 series and the car rides really plush on bad nyc highways but offers really good handling.

I do a lot of highway driving and it would be nice to get a softer suspension for the highway while allowing same handling characteristics.

the 08 09 springs tend to be a bit bouncy on the highways.

any ideas? springs? coilovers are a bit expensive and I probably wouldn't go for them.

You bought the wrong car! The 08s are very plush compared to an AP1

bilstein pss9 is all that comes to my head. they supposedly ride smoother than stock, but handle better than stock as well.

^couldnt it have upgraded electronic suspension? like teh ferrari/Zr1 style?

idk!

other than that, which costs outrageous amounts..i dont see how youd get soft + handling in one pick. + too soft on the s2000 might not be good, as since its so damn low you'll be scraping whenever you go over big dips..

soft suspension around corners can absorb the road better and keeps the car from hopping around. keeping 4 wheels touching the ground around a turn = greater handling. idk i could be wrong haha

stiff suspension is more for track use where its should be smooth roads for the most part

No, your absolutely right, and it applies to racing as well...

If you understeer, you soften the front end or stiffen the rear end, if you oversteer, you soften the rear end or harden the front end.

Exactly what you say about the contact patch especially on regular (and not so smooth) roads. You will simply be able to push harder than someone with a stiff and low coilover setup, and the car will be more predictable and progressive.

Altering the stock suspension setup, is ONLY for adjusting the 'look' or for track use, it won't give you any benefits for road driving, unless the surface is super smooth.

This is especially apparent in Greece where the roads are ridiculously bumpy and generally in very poor shape. Those with stiff setups are hopping around all over the place, and can't keep all the tires on the road. Inevitably, it makes pushing the envelope extremely dangerous.
