Default soft top trouble

Hey guys I just bought an 02 s2k, and I was wondering if anyone has had trouble with their soft top going down all the way. I'm almost positive something is wring...the top is going down like 4/5th of the way down but locks up. Any trouble shooting hints or should I just take it in the dealership and get it checked out?

As far as I know, the proper repair (replacement of these elastics) require top removal.
This may be expensive if you are out of warranty.
Its about an 8 hour work!

Is it the face lift model with the glass rear view window ? cause I have noticed the earlier ones with the plastic window when folded down sit a lot lower than mine with the glass one!!! Is it only my idea???

It might help if we knew where you lived. The top not going down all the way is also a sign of moderately cold use. If I try to put the top down when its 40 or so, it will react similarly, but after a few tries of up/down a few inches, it will eventually go all the way.
