That was far too serious and made too much sense across the board, from my point of view. You and your damn sensibility.

I agree with everything you said.

My dyno chart is still real.
ditto =)

I think that any time you focus on a single element of a vehicle, you miss the broader picture. Add to that the fact that most people who talk about VTEC don't actually understand it, and the situation is ripe for misunderstanding and smack talk. VTEC doesn't add ANY power to the S2000 engine, not even 0.01 HP, and people who think it does, simply don't understand, so it's probably best to just ignore their blabbering. The F20C and F22C could easily make exactly the same peak power they make now without using VTEC. Rather than having less power, the resulting engines would run very poorly at lower revs. SO, VTEC doesn't add power, it adds drivability at lower speeds, and I'm dead serious when I say it's probably best to ignore any blabbering that fails to recognize this. VTEC "kicks in" at 6k and BELOW to make the car more drivable, and has dick to do with the engines peak power output.
While I agree with you for the most part, I think that you can also look at this from the inverse position; being that without VTEC Honda would not have been able to make as much power in a practical manner for a street car. In this sense the VTEC system is allowing the car to produce more peak power because the resulting engine that would have to be created without VTEC would be essentially un-drivable or at least too much of a pain in the ass to consider a viable showroom product. After all that is the reason they created the 2.2l engine, for better low rpm drivability.

And while VTEC engagement may not hold a candle to an after market (or even newer stock) FI applications, I can say from experience that is actually felt more then some older ('80s-early '90s) factory turbo systems.

I know VTEC isn't overrated and I have my Dyno chart to prove it:

lmao! 900 whp 50 torqu. truly an s2000 dyno and this further merits the title of torqueless wonder! love the dyno sheet lol

I don't think I could "like" the S2000 because I had sex in it. Although it is more than "doable", it's certainly not the ideal vehicle for it.

"I think that any time you focus on a single element of a vehicle, you miss the broader picture." Read it and weap from the Red man.

An S2000 is so much more than Vtecking it brotha. I feel for you, because you have a car that from inception was destined for greatness and you are devaluing it with such comments.

"VTEC is not an obsession or some kind of foolishness. It is an important part of the total package."- tha Red man.

Nough said.
