It sounds nice enough but I don't see the connection with a distinct roadster styled convertible that the S2000 is. Actually, other than the name, I really see no genetic resemblance. It could be an outstanding car on it's own merits but calling it an S2000 is a huge mistake in my humble opinion. Hey....how about S3000? That way it would protect the distinction and sanctity that only a true S2000 is AND should remain.

#3. If the rumor is anything like the NSX rumors, we'll see an actual car that kind of resembles what an S2000 was in about 12 years.

That said, I'd welcome a car that actually delivers on the S2000's original goals, but I doubt a hybrid will do it.

...sharp lines, a bold grille and narrow headlights giving them a character unlike any of Honda’s current models.
Really? Cause all those things describe the front of the CRZ.

That wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing in my opinion.

I've always liked the CRZ styling, just wished it put down more power.

I wouldn't be too excited...
But, this can be true. NSX rumors have been getting thrown around since 2012. Ever since the S2000s final year, rumors have been popping up left and right. And the recent toyko motor show, showed that Honda wanted to come back with a sports car.

Under the skin of the new Honda S2000, we’ve been told to expect a revised version of the 2.0-litre 350bhp turbo engine, which will power the next generation Honda Civic Type R.

Some hybrid tech - developed in conjunction with the McLaren Formula 1 team - should also feature and it's set to allow for 0-62mph in around five seconds, but with an economy of around 40mpg.

Honda is looking at adding a simplified version of the all-wheel-drive petrol-electric system used in the NSX.

This makes a lot of sense to me, actually. The NSX will be a ~$200K baby P1/918, still barely competitive with a GT-R but it can be their halo car.

The car they talk about above? It's the P1/918 concept but applied to the STi/Evo power level. The problem is keeping it close to their price, but if it's within $10-15K and the power difference is substantial, it will sell.

Quick Reply: So um..The s2000 is being resurrected..
