Default So my dealer/Hondacare denied to replace my top

I called Hondacare a month ago and told them about a tear that is developing on the passenger side (on top of the passenger's head) and explained that I had seen many other s2000's with the same problem. The rep said he heard about this issue before and he gave me a case #. He then told me to go into a dealership to have it checked out. When I went in, the manager said that if it would be covered, it would be covered under "goodwill" since I have a 2002 with 58k miles. I got a call last week and was told that Hondacare refused to cover the tear.

What the hell do I do now?

Buy a replacement top and have it installed? They are about 800 + labor for installation.

This is not the end of the world and many have replaced their tops at their own expense. So you will not be the first, or the last.

You got 6+ years of service out of it. Many early owns got far less before they had to replace theirs for the rear plastic window fogging. Now Honda was not about to cover those.

Not sure if hondacare will cover things like this. I had my top replaced at 35k miles for the same issue.

Maybe print out a few threads from s2ki about the defect rip on the passenger side and how they usually get replaced by the dealer for free?

Or just patch it yourself cheaply.

I got mine replaced (under CPO) warranty by RUSSELL & SMITH HONDA

however during installation they removed my roll-hoop cover improperly and ended up SPLITTING BOTH OF THEM, AND DENIED THEIR WRONGDOING

PSA for everyone out there
