The stock ap2 rims are much heavier than the RPF1...that can make a big difference.
Plus you said you have sound stuff in your car?

I get a feeling it has to do with the ECU's tuning being more aggressive.

The DBW system might be part of this too. Do you have a lot of slack in the MY05 throttle cable?

That wont do much.... Our ecu's are learning ecu's which mean they adapt whenever they encounter a different situation (more air flow, heat, cold) etc...

Im putting my money on the wheels though, or maybe just since his is newer and hasnt lost as much compression as an older car.... I guess?

That would have been my guess as to the primary reasons.

Rims + Audio = heavy

I have checked, the car doesn't have a test pipe, I was thinking that maybe it could be the ecu tuning from factory. I do have some audio stuff done (one eclipse amp and JL stealth box.. I do have spare and all tools) but I don't think it would make that big a difference in the way the car feels.

Does the MY06 have a lighter weight fly wheel then the MY05 from factory? I was just wondering if the previous owner had any stuff done to the car that we don't know about. I'm thinking about the aftermarket wheels vs. the stocks, this may contribute to the difference between the two especially being that I have 255's on the rear of mine.

I did the exact same thing, drove an 07 and it definately felt quicker than my 04, but we ran side by side and we were dead even. Im pretty sure its just the drive-by-wire, although the rims could also make a difference. id recommend checking the slack in your throttle cable.

I like your avitar hehe

Anyway, that's an interesting finding. Didn't realize the 07s would feel faster ...

I think it was probably a false impression. Stock for stock Honda rates HP exactly the same.
It could be the exhaust note for example or some other sensory impression that led you to believe one was faster.
IMO if one car is truly faster, the other car has some internal flaw most probably related to exhaust even though both are stock.
