Default So I took my S out of storage recently..

It's been a WHILE I got to drive my S!! It feels so good to be 'topdown' cruising again. LOL

Just some random thoughts:

1. The shifter feels SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much shorter than my BMW's. I was so used to the truck-like throws in the bimmer, it was a shock at first.

2. The clutch travel is 3x shorter in the S, but b/c the S2000 clutches engages so quick, I find myself revving up in first gear before taking off. It's harder to take off smoothly in the S i think.

3. Car is approaching 3 year mark and has 31k miles, and I definitely realized that the car is starting to show its age. It's not neglected or anything, but the age shows. Also, car rattles & buzzes at several points, mostly from the softtop. I really have to think about whether to keep her or get a new S.

But overall these are minor complaints and I just love driving her!! I'm gonna sneak out during lunch hour and cruise around a bit.

I don't know which BMW you have, but a UUC SSK made a world of difference in mine. It's as short or shorter than the S2Ks.

I also had a beater BMW during the winter and when I got back in my S, it just made me realize how much more crisp, precise and short those STOCK Honda shifters were, not to mention just about everything else about the car. Someone said that the best mod they got for the S was a beater, and I have to agree.

Have you lubricated all the hinges and joints with white lithium grease? I had the dealership do that to mine while still under warranty and its doesn't make a single creak at all anymore.
