The best I had before was 5.63 (approx. 2000km)
now i have 11000 km but the best was 5.66 tonight......
wheels spinned too much..........
so depressed....... -_-
*not on street, not racing, not satisfied with the result*

You seemed to me measuring distances in metric units (km) ... does that mean that you're talking about 0-100km/h times? Or do you measure the 0-60m/h time? There's a big difference (good 0.3 - 0.4 secs) between the 2 times.
Also, 5.66 is more or less the same as 5.63 so why the dissapointment? Your car seems to be performing about the same.
ps. What were your launch revs for the 5.66 time?

I was doing 0-100km/hr, however, the Gtec I borrowed from my friend is in m/hr...
I was launching at around 7000 rpm.
I was expecting to get better times than before since I gained more kms on my s2.
tires: dunlop Sp9000, it's a stone compare to the stock s-02
Any advice?

blau-blau,
Hey bud...5.66 is impressive to me.
If I can get 5.66, I would be pretty darn satisfied in my driving!
Want to beat 5.63? Hmmm...try doing it on a cold day...and when the sun is beaming on the pavement.

blau-blau,
Thanks bud...I really like the wheels. I only wish that they were 18x8 (+50mm) and 18x9 (+60mm). 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 look really good on those dimensions (I am using 215/40/18 and 245/35/18). It's o.k. though, these are my street wheels for all weather...and the lighter the better for highway racing.
Yeah...I'm not too sure about the accuracy...but I would definately say that the gtec is a pretty close estimate for you money. It may be off by a bit...but you know what? After owning one...you will be a better and faster driver, because you have a way of measuring your 0-60 MPH times.
I wish I had one...I would like to find out my 0-60 with my stock and 0-60 with my 18's. Where did you order it bud?
Thanks,

Blau-blau, I'm still a bit confused - so the numbers you're quoting are 0-60m/h and not 0-100km/h ... right? What about the rest of you guys, are you talking 0-60m/h or 0-100m/h ... it's important to know which as there's a fairly big difference between the two times.
If you're doing 5.6x 0-100km/h then I'm very impressed as that is very fast for a 0-100km/h (fastest I have ever seen). 5.6 secs for 0-100 km/h puts you in NSX league and beats M roadster and BoxsterS. Any car that can get less than 6 secs for the 0-100km/h time is one incredibly fast machinery. Personally, best I managed was 6.15 for the 0-100km/h (I did about 6 - 7 runs). Though, 2kturkey managed to get sub 6 ... 5.7x was his time if I'm not mistaken. It took him 20+ launches to get that time though. btw, substract about 0.3 (maybe even 0.4) from the 0-100km/h times to get rougly what the 0-60m/h time would have been.
If you're saying that you managed 5.6x for the 0-60m/h time then you're doing good times and well. They are in line with what most UK and US publication manage to get out of the S2000 on a good day. I'm still impressed with that.
Wondering how to go faster? 1st make sure you take all the 'junk' out from your car (whatever you might be carrying), then make sure that you're in the car by yourself as another person will cost yuo at lest 0.2 secs. Then run on empty tank (or close to it ... maybe 1/4 full) as full tank will cost you another 0.1 secs or so. Then deflate your rear tyres to 32psi in order to get a bit more grip and make sure that when you launch and the wheelspin stops that you've doing about 6k revs ... any less and you're bogging down. Any more and you had too much wheelspin. Personally, I found that 7.5k were the best revs for the launch as that gave me the best wheelspin/grip rato. This is how 2kturkey shaved 0.3 secs of his time.
ps. removing the spare wheel and toolbox will also help.

My best GTech before supercharger (did have cool air intake) was 5.44. I consistently turned 6.x numbers, more than I did 5.x numbers. I'm a hard launcher, 7,000 RPMs, and I tested all the different ranges of launch RPMs. Anything under 7,000 didn't get me the numbers I was expecting. Even turned a 7.x once, very disturbing. With the supercharger the launch doesn't seem to have to be as perfect to have a decent time. My Gtech ranges with SC are much more consistent, 5.1-5.4. Those tests came on first weekend of SC being installed, haven't GTech'd it since, mainly because of the intermitant hesitation, still waiting for fix.

Unicron:
I wish I had purchased a set of 18!! (however, i'm satisfied with my 17s already )
I just borrowed the Gtec from my friend, my friend's RX-7 could do some sub 6s, the best run for him was about 5.6-7 too, pretty good for that year of machine (probably 93).
yea I agree that u r very good at matching color!!
very good choice for your wheels on silver s2
DavidM:
Very detail explanation, I will take your advice like take the junk out of my car first!
Yea i was doing 0-60m/h with the Gtec, so that's why I'm expecting our stook could do better than that, just I have to learn more about how the clutch n gas work n take your advice I shouldnt have full tank last night while doing 0-60, too stupid!
But I still think it's very hard to launch..... hard to launch as good as the driver in the Best motoring who has got 1/4m 14.029 with top, windows down, anti-wind, 350 miles only engine....
how fast can M roadster n Boxter S do?

DavidM, I think Blau-blau is using a US gtech which registers mph and 1/4 mile times instead of the one I borrowed which is an international Gtech measuring kmh and 400m times.
In my view the 5.8 time for 0-60 which Blau blau quoted equates pretty well to the 6.2 time you have been getting for 0-100kmh. I estimate 0.4 of a second difference between 0-60mph and 0-100kph.
My best time was 5.85 for 0-100kmh which pretty much equates to Wesmasters best of 5.44 for 0-60. As Wesmaster states, however, most of his times were in the 6s not the 5s. This is consistent with my results where a 6.8 for 0-100kmh is the time I seemd to be able to hit pretty consistently.
