So if you make the mistake of lifting off the throttle, can you fix it with counter steering and getting back on the throttle?

This thread is valuable and I think provides much backstory to my accident.
Part of the crash stemmed from relatively cold tires on a very cold morning. But the conditions were not all that unusual for a winter morning.
Taking a major 3-lane highway ramp that I've driven about a million times before at speeds that I've done a million times before (but still above the limit by a bit) only this time the oversteer talked about in this thread hit me. Back end stepped out to the left and for better or worse it didn't catch and send me spinning around the other way. Just kept me heading clockwise.
There is a small bump on this ramp between two sections of asphalt that were paved at different times. I try to always be off the throttle when in a corner and going over a bump. It seems this time the conditions, speed, and throttle lift were too much.

i hate to say this but this also happened to my old s2000. you just have to be really careful when you drive. dont drive crazy on corners and i think you should be good. when a car is that sideways i think its pretty hard to get here back to where it was.

Great info here, I agree that lifting is the main cause. I'd also like to add another contributing factor that hasn't been mentioned yet.... HIGH COMPRESSION = greater engine breaking, therefore, when you lift in an S2K the weight transfer is even greater than any average car, even more so in an AP1 with a lighter flywheel. Personally, I have used engine breaking to initiate a drift while "playing" in the rain. Simply letting off the accelerator can have huge impacts on stability.
