IMO, clear makes it look "cheap" the factory amber gives it some class. I guess the whole clear thing just reminds me of the civic kid's with their Clear tailights and clear corners etc.....

 

When I did mine I went nekkid. IMO it gives it a much rawer look. I spraypainted the blinker bulb tops with black and did the bottom with an orange sharpie. If you do it well it looks quite nice and you would be amazed at how well an orange sharpie does! Anyway it is all up to you in the end and what look you want to give the car. I plan on finishing mine up in an all blacked out look including rims, windows, badges and smoking the front and rear light covers so for me raw goes quite well.

my sides are smoked and i will be installing smoked corners this weekend... i like the more subtle look- smoked sorta blends with the black color of the car, imo.
