hey, that would be me! So maybe I should only get gas from a pump that the previous driver just pumped premium gas! That would assure me of getting premium in the hose right?

What a country! While some owners worry about a few teaspoons of another fuel grade getting into their engines, others are reving them to 8k and popping the clutch putting maximum strain on the entire drivetrain. Hummmmm.

I HATE pumping gas, so overtaxed here and they're all self serve anymore.

As for being screwed, wouldn't the pump count the gas from the pump not the hose?

See i have always had a different worry.
i worry that the number that says "total sale" and the number that says "gallons" arnt the same. Like if gas cost $1.50 a gallon and i have 2 gallons and they charge me $3.50. Those numbers scroll by so fast who could tell if the sliped in a nickle or to?
I cant wait for hydrogen car.

One trick you can use to avoid the math is this. Assuming you are adding more than 10 gallons, stop the pump at exactly 10.00 gallons. The price should be exactly 10 times the cost per gallon.

I used to do that occassionally until I bought my Civic (car prior to the S2000). If I added 10 gallons to the Civic, I was probably too relieved I made it to the gas station to worry about the price.
