Default single exhaust w/ silencers hooked up..

Just wanted to get some opinions on this, do the silencers really make that big a difference? I like the weight savings of a single exhaust, but just didnt want to drive a loud car all the time, it'd b nice to have some peace and quiet every once in a while. lol

Don't get a single, especially 70mm, if you are worried about the volume, it probably wasn't designed to fit your needs. If it's that big of a deal, I'd just switch on the stock exhaust for a few days if you need a break or are taking a trip. It takes driving backwards on to a few 2X4's if you don't have wheel ramps, and 20 minutes of your time max if you've already done it.

That being said, putting a silencer causes excess heat build up in the exhaust. Many of our vendor's exhausts are made to be absolutely efficient, that includes making the choice of how thin to make the exhaust to maximize weight savings while also keeping it strong.

For any exhaust labeled 'race', I'd expect them to engineer it to NOT withstand the extra temperatures of running a silencer for extended periods of time. You can't expect maximum weight savings and the extra durability to run a silencer. Perhaps you should find a few s2k owners and see how you like it, or choose a more well-known quiet 63mm exhaust.
