I had a set of these in a 03 GTI that I had and they consistantly burned out after 3 months, but they worked great until that point.

Another good bulb that i put in my dad's tacoma is XtraVision. It's not meant to be white like the silver stars, but it's supposed to be 30% brighter than stock, and they are.

And that is Xtravision from osram/sylvania too.

Pepboys, kragen, or any other autoparts store should have them. Just make sure they are expensive..

I had a set (hi&lo) in my last car (a 1994 with dim lights) for about 3 years, no burnout problems. They were a definite improvement.

I had them in my Talon when they first came out and loved them. I had them for over a year, then actually sold them to another kid when I parted my car out. These will be what I buy for replacement high-beams when/if I get around to it.

I have some silverstars on my 5th gen Civic Ex. I think the life expectancy is about a year with consistent night time use. My driver side burnt out, and was replaced after 17 months. The passenger side is still going strong.

Where is a good place to get these bulbs? I am thinking about getting them for my wife's Toyota Highlander. After driving my S, I can't see anything with her low beams. I believed it's the 9006 size for both the low beams and the fog lights. Do they sell them in local stores or only online? Thanks guys.

Check out Powerbulbs

They are based in the U.K. and have the European Osram SilverStars. These ones do not have the blue coating on them. I believe that they are brighter than the North American spec SilverStars (ie. the ones you can pick up at WalMart, Kragen, Pepboys, etc.). You order them online and they ship them directly from the U.K. Check 'em out!

Hmm. I've heard the same thing at ClubLexus.com but results seem to be mixed. I have had Silverstars in my hi and lo beams in my SC300 for about 9 months now with no problems. Quite the improvement. Of course, polishing the head light lenses helped too.
