You'll be sorry if you lock into a lease. Things will change tons for you in the next few years.

Buy a used AP1 for $15,000 and finance the amount you're not able to pay.

Or just have Daddy buy you the new one if you "don't wanna drive a used car."

I agree with Fantasma, if you think $5k is a lot of money... wait or buy a different car. You do know the car eats tires and can smack you with a high-dollar repair (diff, rod, mis-shift).

can you still lease a car with a good interest rate, even if you just start a credit line?
Dude.. thats why you have a CO-SIGNER... your dad can co-sign for you.

I edited my last post but I feel like I need to type it out again ...

What you're basically getting into is years upon years upon years of debt, being broke and eating crackers with water for dinner, and a screwed up credit record. Not to mention, insurance will cost $400 a month and then there's tires, expensive gas, etc ... not to mention if you're fairly new to these kinds of cars, there's a chance you'll crash it and be in the hole with no money or car for years ...

What I am doing is saving up cash for my s2k. It'll take approximately two years or more until I get it and I know it, but I am stuck in debt and I learned my lesson. My current car is gonna be out of my driveway in a couple months and I'm going to take my motorcycle to work (a lot cheaper!) while I save. Again, it'll be a while, but discipline will earn me a "free" S2000.

I reccommend you do the same considering where you are with age, credit, employment, etc. I don't wanna see you getting yourself into a $20,000 loan where you are struggling to meet the minimum payments. Or perhaps get a 90s Mazda Miata? They are very similar cars and many people start with Miatas to later move up to s2ks.

haha, thanks for saying geez! lol

I go to Kettering University, formerly Known as General Motors Institute,
and how this schools works is.
You go to school for 3 months and after that, you are required to Co-Op for 3 months.

And the co-op i found is close to home, so i'm currently living at home right now.
But after that back to school, which is an hour away.

But yeah, from my co-op, i have 16 an hour, and i usually work 48 hours a week.
so that is 8 hours over time, which is counted as 24 an hour.

but yeah, i appreciate all the input

I called honda today and got some quotes,

48 months no money down = 430/month + tax
36 months no money down = 460 or somethin a month + tax

but yeah, i'll decide carefully

I would just buy used. Look for one that is in good condition, with low miles. It can be done. That's what I'm currently doing. I have a year of undergrad left, and then I'm going to law school.

I had to deal with a pain in the ass dealership that ****ed up my credit for the time being, but it was all corrected today, and my credit report should reflect it soon.

I have about $2500 to put down, and I'm going to sell my current car for $10k or so. Then I'll just finance the rest. But I'm looking to spend no more than $17k or so, for a use AP1. My payments will be well under $200, closer to $150, or less per month, which is easily doable on a college kid's wage, and I'll still have money left over to save, on top of my bills, spending money, etc.

Besides just keeping my current car, it seems to be the most responsible route for me to go to get into an S2000.
