Default Should I get my OEM radio fixed

OK, my extended warranty will cover my OEM radio and give me a new one. The radio will not play burned CD's anymore. It lasted about a year after I bought the car with 27K on the clock. I now have 54K and it stopped playing any CD's.

Am I just better off getting an aftermarket one for 1-200 bucks or getting an OEM for free, that will break again if I continue to play burned CD's.

Get the OEM repaired or replaced, then sell it and purchase an aftermarket unit.

I doubt burned CDs broke your HU.

Either way, personally, I'd go ahead and warranty the HU to get a new one. It's free.

Then, possibly consider getting an aftermarket HU you'd enjoy more. If/when you sell the car, slap the free OEM HU replacement back in.

If you can afford it get a new HU and then save the replaced free stocker for when you sell the car.

all i ever play is burned cd's and 99% of them work in my stock unit with no issues, now and then one may not work, but i attribute that to the type of file or the burn itself.

You can always donate the stock HU to charity if you don't want it. Some places will fix up beater cars and sell them to pay for shelter supplies.
