well, we have Z guys, they're committed to their Z-cars.. we have Miata guys, they race well, cheap parts... I wouldn't buy a car based on would it be paying too much for it.. it'd be cause it came out and said, you have to buy me.. we're suppose to go drive and have fun... when someone asks me what kind of car I would consider for them, have you considered getting a mustang or a gti rabbit...

the 2007 S2000 sounds sweet... someone will fall into car with it one day... you'll know them, cause they'll be the one saying, that's my car...

The price does seem a little high but if it is color you like, then it's not a bad deal.

You may not realize that white S2ks are the most expensive because they are the rarest----folks pay several thousand more for a GPW (Grand Prix white) over the other colors.

So this helps justify the higher price.

Jetboater is right. The price is a bit high, but GPW with the red/black interior is one of the most sought after combinations and the price for these are generally a little higher. If you like it, jump on it.

I agree...go for it...

If you don't, someone else will own "your car"... Someone is going to pay the premium and acquire the beast...it might as well be you!

Better to pay an extra 40-60/month (or $3k outright if you're not borrowing) than to settle on a car that is not what you truly want.

Good to know. Thanks.

I follow sales of S2000s regularly on auto trader.com and elsewhere. One trend is clear - low mileage, late model and all stock beauties are consistently available. There is no rush imo.

Did you offer the dealer the price you are willing to pay for it...i.e., something in the $25K range?

Way way way overpriced. I'd definitely wait. Even $25k is too high for one that has had a panel replaced/repaired/repainted.

There are plenty out there that cost less that are accident free.

I'm an S2k guy ( old 911 is my mistress) but remember this-

S2000s are slowly getting more rare and expensive. They are not getting better just more pricey.

Miata's are cheap and plentiful and are evolving and I assume are getting "better".

I'd buy the right S2000 and if the new Miatas are more to your liking you will be able to make a good trade in a few years with little or no financial pain.

S2000 is the win-win.
